⚡️PYP: The results of my LinkedIn experiment

Hey Reader,

First off...I am SO sorry for abandoning you for a week. I was going to send this email last Sunday. I had a few adjustments i needed to make and hten planned to send it while flying from Portland (where I live) to NYC.

But my water bottle exploded on the flight and when I went to pull my laptop out of my backpack it was sitting in a puddle...and no longer worked.

So it's been a whole mess of getting everything back up and running!

Okay, back to the point of our email :)

I've been running a little LinkedIn experiment.

I've been sharing videos with every single post for the last 9 days or so.

Here are my results from the first 7 days:

  • 96% increase in impressions
  • 40% increase in engagements
  • 113% increase in shares
  • 244% increase in followers (this image doesn't show the stat clearly. I gained 281 followers during this experiment, compared to 115 the previous week)

Pretty astounding results, huh?

I also shared more context into how I did it and the ahas that resulted.

I think there are a few important things to note here:

Reaching a new audience

I noticed a lot of comments and engagement from people I don't normally see responding to my content. That feels like a huge win.

More calls booked and DMs sent

I consistently get calls booked and DMs sent, but the videos definitely increased that, especially from people whose names I didn't recognize. And nearly every single one mentioned a specific video.

Not everyone watches the video

LinkedIn's aggregated video analytics aren't great, but you can look at the analytics for each post, and it's clear that only about 50% of the people seeing my post actually watch the video.

So it's essential to have written content that can stand on its own and use the video to go deeper into the topic.

If you're regularly on the platform, you might have heard the rumors that LinkedIn is actively building a video-only news feed for its mobile app.

I think LinkedIn is interested in capturing some of the audience and attention currently devoted to TikTok and Instagram, so they're pushing video.

My recommendation? Now is a phenomenal time to start trying video content.

I'll be continuing to make video a core part of my strategy and I'll be sharing more advice on how you can also.

In love and growth,
Kasey

Hey Reader, It's time for an intervention. I think you might be suffering from a dangerous entrepreneurship trend. Something that even I fall victim to, more often I'd care to admit. Study addiction Learning addiction Course-buying-addiction Thinking about it really hard addiction One of the members of the Power Your Platfrom progam actually joked that buying courses she never took or did anything with was her love language. We all laughed (and groaned) and the familiarity of it. That's why...

Hello Reader, This past Sunday was my 42nd birthday. I'm not a big birthday person. I don't celebrate for a week. I don't throw parties. I don't make a fuss. But I've been reflective this year because, well, this past year has been one of rapid and rather spectacular transformation. I decided to gather and impart a little wisdom from a lot of hard lessons learned over my years on Earth. And I was genuinely shocked by the response, so thought I'd share it with all of you too. You can see it on...

Hey Reader— For a long time, I thought there were a finite number of ways to build a high profit, successful, impressive business. That you had to follow the models of those who came before you. And so, that's what I did. I shared this message today on LinkedIn It's why, as an early entrepreneur, I started building an agency. I had been doing freelance marketing and everyone told me, an agency was the only way to grow — to earn more money, have more freedom, and make more impact. But guess...
