⚡️PYP: The SPT Framework to find your throughline

Published about 2 months ago • 1 min read

Hello Reader—

“But what if I don’t want to only talk about business?”

This is one of the most common questions I get.

  • In the DMs
  • In my cohort
  • On the PYP coaching calls

You are a multi-passionate, beautifully complex human who feels restrained by most of the personal branding advice out there.

Yes, you want to use LinkedIn to grow your business, but the idea of only creating tactical how-to posts or describing your prospects specific problems and the tangible outcomes you deliver sounds boring AF.

You bring so much more energy, experience, and life to your work. Why wouldn’t bring it to your content also?

But you struggle to tie it all together.

To create a personal platform that is as authentically varied as you, but still feels like a cohesive message.

In this video, I share my favorite framework for finding your Throughline. The theme of your content. The lens through which you look at the world and how your audience can understand you and what you’re all about.

I recorded it after a Power Your Platform member asked this question and I thought I'd share it with you too.

Remember, the Throughline is a core part of my Personal Platform Canvas, my template for crafting your personal brand strategy cheat sheet.

Once you find your throughline, the goal is to bring that theme into every piece of content you create, bringing each unique topic back to this one core message. It will mean that as people learn more about who you are, they will also better understand how you can help them.

Give it a try and let me know what you think!

In love and growth,
Kasey

Hey Reader— Before we dive into LinkedIn for Noobs Part 2: Optimizing for Engagement and Impressions, we need to talk about my recent discovery. I shared this yesterday on LinkedIn, so click the video for more details. But the gist is that there is yet another reason why video presents such a powerful opportunity on LinkedIn. We already know the results of my first week of video. 40% increase in engagement 90% increase in impressions 218% increase in follows But now, I’m realizing a new...

Hey Reader— You know by now that I am all in on LinkedIn video. Since I started about a month ago, I’ve only done 2 posts without video and that’s because I pre-scheduled a couple of LinkedIn polls while I was away on vacation. I shared the details of this experiment here, but just to recap, in just my first week, I saw: A 40% increase in engagement A 90% increase in impressions A 218% increase in follows Not freaking bad, huh? As a result, I’ve been getting a ton of people asking for tips,...

Hey Reader, Recently, I went on a 12 day vacation with my husband and pre-scheduled a few LinkedIn posts so that I could continue to prompt some limited engagement in my absence. I thought it would be the perfect time to re-test an old favorite strategy of mine — LinkedIn polls. Most LinkedIn polls are dumb…why are do we care whether people like nutella or peanut butter better? But you really can use them to learn important, valuable information about your audience. One of the polls I ran...
